Martin Thomas

Biography

Martin Thomas joined Liberty in 2020 as a Regional Underwriter in the Bristol Office.

With over 44 years’ experience in underwriting, Martin started his career with Sun Alliance in 1979 working in various underwriting departments until specialising in Professional Indemnity in 1985. With this role he was one of the two Senior Regional Underwriters in the Bristol Office Financial Lines team.

In 2005 he joined SBJ Professional in a dual role as the Broking Manager and as the Underwriter for the various Insurer Delegated Authorities provided to SBJ.

In 2011 he became a Divisional Director in the newly formed Professional Indemnity, Financial Risks – an MGA facility within Bluefin Insurance.  In this role Martin had full underwriting licences with the various insurers who had provided capacity to Professional Indemnity. His duties included management of the Professional Indemnity team, the focal point with Insurers and Senior Technical Underwriter.

Martin is ACII qualified.
