Liberty Specialty Markets bolsters Netherlands team with four new hires

Underwriting appointments include Pascal Pansier as Underwriting Manager, Professional Indemnity, Joost Fransen as Senior Underwriter, Casualty, and Richard van Eijck, who will take on the role of Underwriter Casualty to strengthen its Benelux and Nordics team.

LSM also announced the appointment of Esther van Herk as Senior Claims Handler in a significant upscaling of client service capabilities. The combined expertise of the four appointees in claims handling and underwriting will further enhance LSM's capabilities in the Benelux and Nordics region.

All new hires will be based in the Hague and reflect LSM's proactive approach to achieving its growth ambitions in Continental Europe. Pansier will report to Rob Groenen Head of Benelux and Nordics at LSM, and Valérie Baucher, Head of Professional Indemnity, Europe, LSM. Both Fransen and van Eijck will report to Nicole Nijhuis, Underwriting Manager Casualty/EIL Benelux & Nordics. Van Herk will report to Head of Claims, Benelux & Nordics, Frank Oltrop.

Pansier joins from Marsh BV, where he was Practice Leader, Professional Indemnity, and will be responsible for leading and further developing the PI Underwriting team. Fransen brings more than 30 years of experience in the financial services industry to the role, and most recently was Senior Underwriter, Liability for HDI Global SE. Van Eck joins from Claeren & Co and brings with him nearly ten years of experience as a broker. Van Herk was most recently Senior Claims Examiner at CNA Hardy and has 19 years of industry experience.
