Liberty appoints Ronan Gerety to drive growth in Germany

6 September 2018, LONDON – Liberty Specialty Markets (LSM), part of Liberty Mutual Insurance Group, has appointed Ronan Gerety as General Manager, Insurance, Germany. He will be based in Cologne.

Commenting on the appointment, Kadidja Sinz, Liberty Specialty Market’s head of Europe, said: “Our European business has aggressive profitable growth targets. Ronan’s excellent track record in business development, and extensive knowledge of the German insurance market, mean he will make a major contribution in delivering that growth.”

Ronan has over 30 years’ experience in the insurance market. He joins LSM from Ironshore International, where he was Head of Continental European distribution since 2016. Prior to that, he was a founding Board member of Catlin Europe SA.

Ronan replaces Wolfgang Weis, who, following many years as Germany’s General Manager Insurance, is now focusing his strong international experience on broadening Liberty’s footprint in Austria and Eastern Europe. LSM believes these territories offer significant opportunities both with existing clients and new clients.
