ye sigh where May hiccup

The piece consists of water colour paintings on unstretched muslin fabric. Each of the paintings emulate organic patterns from facial wipes. The Fabric, which originates from India, is meant to reinforce a link between personal identity that is inherited and the identity that is developed for oneself. The work speaks towards the broad concept of selective transparency and queer expression, as well as legitimising identities that seem disposable on the surface, yet leave their marks permanently.
