Through a void, barely

Through a void barely

Taking personal images from the artist for the past decade, the work blends them together to create a visual representation of hoarded memories and obscurity. Reflecting on queer and South Asian perspectives on how emotional factors such as scarcity mentality, hiding identity and the feeling of time slipping away have contributed to the artist’s personal digital hoarding, the work emphasises on the tension between holding onto memories and time, and the dangers that comes with it. The layering technique showcases the gradual void this creates, where the greater the accumulation, the less identifiable it becomes in the process, thereby unintentionally aiding its erasure.
