Many layers of fingerprints which represent 'Identity' and 'Labour'
Tell us about 'The Mona Lisa'
This work consists of many layers of fingerprints, representing ‘identity’ and ‘labour’ which is further demonstrated by how dominant this portrait is. The raw prints of my finger left on the surface suggests the importance of labour and how the whole process has been executed. Just by visually examining this representation, it shows a woman covered with so many obligations, yet she has concealed all of those obligations within herself. I wanted to portray that a woman can be superior if men give her a chance because, after all, women go through so much pain to push this generation forward.
