Ella Chedburn - Forest Shapes

Tell us about 'Forest Shapes'

Suprematism (a Russian art movement created by Kazimir Malevich in 1915) associated geometric shapes with spiritual purity. Meanwhile, forests have always been a hub of spirituality, fairy tales, and folklore. Combining the two, I painted pure geometry floating ethereally between trees. This later inspired my Forest Light installation, where I physically projected shapes into the woods at night.
